an afternoon
I'm usually free every Monday afternoons, but I'm also usually quite tired once class is over at 1. But last Monday, I felt energetic and wanted to run some errands and get things done earlier so I can spare some time later this week. I had a list of things that I needed to pick up, so i headed over to HMV where I spent quite some time listening to the various buddha bar albums on their CD players. The headphones they provided were great. Totally eliminates the outside noise. Bought a pair of Urbanears headphones for D's birthday (which I'm going to mail to him tomorrow, along with other edible goodies) I was debating on teal and indigo but i settled with indigo for him because i wanted teal myself, ha. There were also a shelf full of fictional novels that were no more than $50HKD! After finishing up my first novel of the year, Eat Pray Love by Elizabeth Gilbert couple months back, i felt like I needed to read some more books to improve on my English and maybe learn some new vocabs, so i picked up Blink by Malcom Gladwell. So far so good. Definitely something new to me because I always enjoyed the girly typed novels like The Devil Wears Prada or basically anything by Laura Weisberger. Its still entertaining to me but I figured I should read something more abstract.
After that i went to the bank and deposited my check! Headed over to Franc franc afterwards because i needed a new mug for my vanity. That didn't take me much time to pick out because I already knew I wanted that one. Was just walking aimlessly and ended up purchasing a cute little tuxedo style cardigan. Definitely can't wait til fall now.

First Restaurant Review: Fru:yo
Frozen Yogurt was first introduced to me when I went to LA 3-4 years ago. When I first moved into my studio, there was a newly opened yogurt joint literally 10 steps across from my building so being the curious foodie that i am, i checked it out. I remember not really liking it because i got the wrong flavor. I mean, vanilla isn't what a normal person call "wrong" but it definitely didn't wow me. I thought it was basically for the health conscious people that craved ice cream but couldn't spare the extra calories. Until i was introduced to the original flavor. In my opinion, the best flavor for frozen yogurt is hands down, the original tart flavor. Everything else is just bleh to me. Whether it's chocolate, vanilla, peanut butter or cake batter, I'd rather give in to ice cream if i craved something that indulgent. However, coconut and green tea is a different story.
I've been wanting to go to this particular spot: Fru:yo for a while now but it's pretty much at the outskirts of Causeway Bay, borderline Tin Hau and I never would walk that far for anything. There isn't much around the area except for schools, the central library and a hotel. What i don't like about this place was that it's like Crumbs. I'm not exactly a fan of picking certain number of toppings. I like having all kinds of texture thrown in there, crunchy, chewy, soft etc. I settled with the "Fit" size with two toppings that cost $33. There was a lot of yogurt so she definitely did not skimp on that. Maybe a bit too much because I was sick of it half way through. It was a bit too creamy for my liking, kind of like yogurt flavored ice cream, if you know what I mean. but the sweetness was just right. It can be a little bit more tart because I prefer my froyo to be more sour. I had two of my usual topping : mochi and almond slices. My usual definitely consists of more than that. The shop itself was really cute. Kudos to the wooden chairs and tables. Its pretty different from all the yogurt joints because most of them are in bright and loud colors like pink or green or both at the same time so having this neutral vibe was nice. I'd come here again.

living rooms
i personally love looking at pictures of living rooms and bedrooms. always been fascinated about anything to do with home deco. a bedroom can tell you so much about a person. And also recently moved to a new apartment about a month ago so i've been spending a lot of time browsing for inspirations on how i can make my room more "me". it's tiny but i think i can work something with it.
Some pictures of rooms that im loving. i prefer subtle colors for my living space and having a statement piece to wrap it up like a huge colorful rug, some patterned cushions or bold printed curtains.

Coral
I know, Fall is approaching and I find myself attracting to the wrong color in the wrong time of year. This "coral craze" all started with a nail color I came across in City super, which I happily purchased even though Spring was history. Fall is all about the dark and rich colors. Maroon, navy blue and royal green are among few of my favorites, not just for the fall season but for all year round. CORAL. such a cutesy color. wish my room was in this shade. it just brightens up everything
cute and comfortable - toms are always my go-to pair of shoes |

Steve Jobs
"The world is immeasurably better because of Steve.” He knew exactly what people wanted and strive for it.

“Steve was among the greatest of American innovators -- brave enough to think differently, bold enough to believe he could change the world, and talented enough to do it.”
RIP STEVE JOBS.
